A Rift Between Update 1


This is the first update  to    A Rift Between

there are a decent amount of changes/additions and fixes    

  • fixed bug where ore would get swapped when smashing into atom
  • switched text around when smashing ore so it says rose then grey     
  •  reworked wording and how things interact for the text responses the player receives 
  •  amount of ore is displayed when interacting with ore smasher
  •  amount of atom is displayed when interacting with craft station
  •  main menu music has been updated by Fokai to be a bit shorter and more focused
  •  if player does not have enough resources to fix the crafting machine it will not proceed with repair text
  •  if player does not have ore to smash it will not proceed to smash dialogue 
  •  Fokai added sounds for repairing the machines as well as using the atom smasher 
  •  fixed death bug that had prevented loss of objects on death of o2 or suit,  now if you die on a run you do not bring back any resources
  •  updated the lighting in all scenes to give the game  a feel of depth 
  •  updated text bubble to not be so bright with the new lighting as it could hurt the eyes 
  •  added lighting to a lot of the particles giving them a bit of oomf
  •  added craft able grenades, can be used with Q and E to throw left or right and takes into consideration the direction the player is moving,  resource cost will be 1 red 1 grey currently, debating putting behind a locked mechanic that gets earned at a certain wave
  •  fixed a bug that was caused by how I was handling the grenade interaction that was causing the shooting to not move when the player would stop moving.  
  •  Remade one of the aliens artwork and added a death animation 
  •  Improved animation of another one of the aliens 
  •  Added a brand new alien type that come in larger groups, are easier to kill and move fast ( perfect for a grenade toss ) 
  •  Improved the particle interactions of shooting the aliens 
  •  player shadow now disables while warping
  •  fixed audio bug where sounds would play 100s of times in a second after a enemy died, it was soft in the background but annoying 
  • new crafting system added  - I needed a way to add more craft options into the game so the menu needed expanded. Ended up coming up with a interface that can branch out gave this interface animations and set it up to use the code behind the old crafting menu 
  •  added a lock on the player while repairing things, unlocks the second its fully repaired as player moving during the repair was causing a break in some logic 
  •  changed the color values of Yes/No selecting so it blends better and is easier to understand what you are currently selecting 
  • changed the crafting station to instant activate on walking up if it is already repaired 
  •  added counting of the grenades across scene so you can only use the crafted ones inside combat scene 
  •  combat scene now has a UI indication for grenades on hand that updates as used
  •  o2 no longer depletes until player has fully spawned into combat area 
  • o2 values fixed so player does not die until counter hits 0  
  • combat scene now displays ore collected at the end
  • death now shows the amount of ore lost
  •  timer now does not start until player fully spawned in 
  •  adjusted spawn values to scale a bit better on combat scenes
  •  adjusted canvas anchors across all scenes so WebGL will scale correctly
